How to use email to the clinic
You are welcome to write to us about practical questions. Please do not send your civil registration (CPR) number, sensitive health information or photos of intimate areas by email. Call the clinic during phone hours and we will agree the best way to send your information. Email is not for urgent symptoms.
Urgent help
After an examination or operation, seek medical advice promptly if you have substantial or persistent bleeding, severe or increasing pain, or fever with a feeling of being unwell.
Call the clinic during phone hours (Mon–Thu 09:00–12:00). If you cannot reach us, or it is outside phone hours, contact your GP during their opening hours, otherwise call 1813 in the Capital Region or your local out-of-hours service in other Danish regions.
For life-threatening symptoms such as collapse, severe breathing difficulty or uncontrolled major bleeding: call 112 immediately.
Never wait for an email reply or the next phone opening when symptoms are urgent. Follow the individual instructions you were given on discharge.

About the clinic
Kirurgen.dk is a specialist clinic in Charlottenlund treating varicose veins, gastrointestinal conditions and ambulatory surgical conditions for referred patients. If you are in health insurance group 1 and have a valid referral from your GP, the examinations and treatments covered by the clinic's public health agreement are covered by the Danish public health insurance, so you pay nothing for them yourself. If you are in health insurance group 2, there is usually a small co-payment under the health insurance rules. If you are paying yourself, contact the clinic for a price.
