What does varicose vein treatment cost?
The clinic holds a provider number under the Danish public health insurance and receives referred patients for services covered by the current agreement; whether a specific service is covered is clarified before the course of treatment. Self-payers pay DKK 12,000 per leg for laser treatment (EVLA/EVLT) and DKK 8,000 per leg for classical varicose vein surgery. The clinic confirms in writing what the price covers, and whether additional services may apply, before you accept the pathway.
Price with a GP referral
If you have a valid referral from your GP, the pre-assessment with specialist evaluation and duplex ultrasound of the veins is covered by the public health insurance. This also applies if the examination shows that your varicose veins cause only cosmetic concerns. If no medical indication for treatment is found, the treatment of the cosmetic varicose veins itself is not covered by the public health insurance agreement and will therefore be self-pay. If you are in health insurance group 2, there is usually a small co-payment under the health insurance rules. The clinic holds a provider number and accepts referred patients.
Price without a referral (self-payer)
- Endovenous laser (EVLA/EVLT): DKK 12,000 per leg.
- Classic surgical removal: DKK 8,000 per leg.
- Foam sclerotherapy of smaller veins / spider veins: offered as part of the overall plan.
- Pre-assessment alone (duplex ultrasound and consultation): contact the clinic.

Why is the price per leg?
The price is per leg because the affected vein and the suitable method usually differ between legs. If both legs are to be treated, we plan the course together with you, and whether they are treated in the same session or separately is assessed individually.
Payment and cancellation
Payment is made after treatment by card or bank transfer. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before your appointment.

With a doctor's referral
If you are in health insurance group 1 and have a valid referral from your GP, the examinations and treatments covered by the clinic's public health agreement are covered by the Danish public health insurance, so you pay nothing for them yourself. If you are in health insurance group 2, there is usually a small co-payment under the health insurance rules. If you are paying yourself, contact the clinic for a price.

Can I get varicose vein treatment through health insurance?+
Many private health insurance policies cover the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins. We are happy to issue an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company. Contact your insurance provider before treatment to get pre-approval for the process.

As a self-payer, the preliminary examination with duplex ultrasound and medical advice is a separate fee – please contact the clinic for the current price.
