Short answer

If you are unhappy with your care here, tell us first. If you want to complain formally, or believe you have suffered an injury, independent public bodies handle this. The two main routes are the Danish Agency for Patient Complaints for complaints and the Danish Patient Compensation Association for compensation. 1, 2

Talk to the clinic first

Many misunderstandings can be settled directly. Call the clinic and explain what happened and what you would like. We take the matter seriously, and speaking up does not affect your treatment. See contact.

You are not required to contact us first, and doing so takes nothing away from your right to complain.

Complaining about treatment or health professionals

The Danish Agency for Patient Complaints handles complaints about health care and about the conduct of health professionals. You can complain about a specific course of care and about the individual professional you were in contact with. The agency is independent of the clinic. 1

There are time limits for when a complaint can be handled, set out in the agency's own guidance. Read the conditions on their site before submitting a complaint. 1

Compensation for an injury

If you believe you have suffered an injury in connection with examination or treatment, you can report it to the Danish Patient Compensation Association. They assess whether it is a compensable injury under the law, and the decision is made independently of the clinic. 2

Here too there are reporting deadlines, set out in their own guidance. 2

Complaints and compensation are two different things

A complaint concerns whether the treatment or the conduct was acceptable. A compensation case concerns whether you suffered an injury that can be compensated. You may use one route, the other, or both. 1, 2

What we cannot promise

We cannot assess your complaint or your compensation case for you, and we cannot say how it will turn out. That is for the independent bodies to decide. We can help by providing the relevant information from your course of care.

Access to your records

You have the right to see what is written in your record. Contact the clinic if you want access, and we will agree how the information is handed over securely. Do not request record information by ordinary email.

If it is acute

The complaint routes are not an acute channel. For serious symptoms call 112. For other urgent help call 1813 in the Capital Region or contact the local out-of-hours doctor.

Contact and appointments

Online booking is not available. Please call the clinic or ask your GP for a referral, so we can find the right appointment.

If you are in health insurance group 1 and have a valid referral from your GP, the examinations and treatments covered by the clinic's public health agreement are covered by the Danish public health insurance, so you pay nothing for them yourself. If you are in health insurance group 2, there is usually a small co-payment under the health insurance rules. If you are paying yourself, contact the clinic for a price.
